A BILL to amend the Code of West Virginia, 1931, as amended, by
 adding thereto a new section, designated §44A-3-4a, relating
 to permitting a county sheriff when acting as a conservator to
 retain five percent of the protected person's estate, up to
 $250 per year, for administrative expenses.
Be it enacted by the Legislature of West Virginia:
That the Code of West Virginia, 1931, as amended, be amended
 by adding thereto a new section, designated §44A-3-4a, to read as
 follows:
ARTICLE 3.  GUARDIANSHIP AND CONSERVATORSHIP ADMINISTRATION.
§44A-3-4a.  Sheriff as conservator; fee.
When a county sheriff acts as conservator and manages an
 estate, he or she is permitted to retain five percent of the
 protected person's estate, up to an annual maximum of $250, to
 cover administrative expenses.
NOTE: The purpose of this bill is to permit a county sheriff
 when acting as a conservator to retain five percent of a protected
 person's estate, up to $250 per year, for administrative expenses.
